Stop doing this is WAY easier to lose and not even possible to save in Wayback. you really mad about this one crow A guy make a assembly GTA: Alien City mod, for working correctly on modern windows. And instead of giving the link directly, he put it on his Discord server, another server that I'm not going to talk to anyone. And this is not the only case. And also I have autism about saving on the Internet. I'm not joking, sometimes I go on friends' stuff and my voice in my head says to save it, even if it will take forever, because Wayback Machine works on two Scotch tapes and chewing gum. (Maybe this autism I got from Kubus idk). And making available have a link ONLY in the discord server makes the chance of saving it much smaller. You can't save this because it's not a webpage and you making social circle very local, some people don't think it can be desapear in next day. I'm sorry for my autism.

i appreciate how discord has made communication on the internet easier, but i also dislike how it has had a hand in killing internet forums and forum culture, but there's also a somewhat rare variant of important files being locked behind getting into a community that i dislike: having to register for one specific forum that i'll never probably post on for hotfixes or any other kind of material that i'm looking for that interests me

I completely forgot about this. It's happened to me a couple of times. One of them - 2-3 weeks ago, I was trying to find a good filter like fake CRT setting for Mesen (NES emulator) and found a topic how a guy does this. I tried to look a screenshot how to do this and this site also for looking screenshot asking regestrartion. Even got registered, trying to send a verify email they have some problem and after days I finally verify email when I forgot a post and just start using RetroArch. Fuck this shit.

forums killed themselves way before discord existed, because of powerhungry mods circlejerking i believe. not that discord mods are better
