i beat baldurs gate 1 a few days ago and now im playing 2
1's story hardly registered with me, it was incredibly boring, but i did like the combat and quest design a lot. 2's story is actually registering to me this time, and i do like the more varied and chaotic side quests in 2

RPGs are a bizzare genre now that i think about it.. its meant to be role playing games but it got used more in a kind of weird nerdy mindspace with it meaning fantasy setting and stat management....... but these games can very wildly like dungeon crawlers and games that dont feature much roleplayin. then there is the genre of isometric CRPGs like planescape, icewind, arcanum, baldurs gate. i feel like this genre just appeared outta nowhere.. i can barely name games in it but it is remembered about as much as adventure games??? i arrive at the point ignore preestablishments, they are weird and shift focus!! thank u
